The project was launched in September 2016 and took four years to complete. On December 18, 2020, the naming ceremony of the “Deep Blue Explorer” was successfully held at CMI Haimen Base.

This platform adopts the world’s highest-level R6 mooring system. The ultra-high-strength 12-point self-contained anchor chain mooring system can be quickly laid within 600 meters of water depth, and can be adapted to operation in global sea areas. The integrated application of multi-functional and efficient drilling system can improve the efficiency by nearly 30% compared with conventional drilling equipment. At the same time, it is equipped with a new self-developed “intelligent operation and maintenance system” platform, which can connect the “offshore” and “shore-based”, and can collect and monitor the current operating state of the platform in real time; and the zero-emission system is configured according to the latest standard, and the “Clean” symbol of the classification society is obtained, which can effectively solve the environmental protection problems of traditional platforms.
